Some places become much more than the land they occupy. For more than 40 years, Heather Hill Country Club founded by the late Constant S. Poholek Sr. has been one of those special places.
It has been a place where children learned to play their first round of golf, where parents and grandparents passed down their love of the game, where lifelong friendships were formed, and where neighbors became family. It has been the setting for countless tournaments, leagues, celebrations, laughs, and unforgettable moments that will live on in the hearts of so many.
It is with tremendous gratitude and a heavy heart that we announce Heather Hill Country Club will permanently close on August 30, 2026.
Although this chapter is coming to an end, the memories created here will never fade. Every tee shot, every putt, every sunrise over the fairways, and every conversation shared in the clubhouse has become part of the Heather Hill story—a story written by all of you.
To our loyal golfers, league members, employees—past and present—friends, neighbors, and the entire Plainville community: thank you. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives and your family traditions for more than four decades. Your loyalty, kindness, and support have meant more to us than words can express.
Heather Hill has never been simply a golf course. It has been a gathering place, a community, and a home away from home for thousands of people. Watching generations of families grow up on these fairways has been one of our greatest privileges.
Although the gates will close on August 30, 2026, the friendships, stories, and memories made here will remain. We hope that whenever you think of Heather Hill, you remember the laughter, the great rounds, the beautiful evenings, and, most of all, the people who made this place so special.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing Heather Hill Country Club to be part of your lives for more than forty years. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve this remarkable community.
Heather Hill may be closing its doors, but the place it holds in our hearts will always remain.
